Monitor externo CRT (desespero)

Galera to com um problema que não consigo resolver (pra variar...). Tenho um note CCE q ta com o monitor ruim (depois posto a foto), o nogoço é q to tentando usar monitor externo. No windows funfa q é uma beleza, o monitor externo é CRT e suporta no máximo 1024x768. Quando eu boto essa resolução no windows funciona fica perfeito, mas no linux não. Uso kubuntu, mesmo com a resolução de 1024x768 fica cortando parte dos lado. Num sei mais o que fazer. Meu xorg.conf ta assim:
